DS4 Windows

I use a PlayStation 4 controller even on PC and sometimes the buttons shown in my videos show Xbox buttons. The button configuration depends on whether I’m using DS4 Windows at that particular time. DS4 Windows is necessary when you need the vibration feature on a PS controller to work for this game. Sometimes I forget to turn it on. Steam used to do the trick, but now it doesn’t and I’m currently using DS4 Windows with Steam. Here’s the link for DS4/DS5 Windows if you need it.

Adjusting Aim Look Sensitivity

One thing that you need to start working on now, and practice is using the flicking technique to get head shots. Once you master it you will be practically unstoppable. Auto-aim puts your sight at the center mass of the target, flick up (left stick) slightly just after auto-aiming will put the sight on the target’s head almost every time. The key to this technique is getting the Look Sensitivity, Aim Sensitivity, and Aim / Look Acceleration in the sweet spot. Some players need it sensitive, some less sensitive. Here’s how you begin to adjust your settings to suit your game play. Adjust in small increments, try it out for an hour or so, and keep adjusting until you find your sweet spot.

• When you flick up and if the sight is too high, lower your settings in small increments.
• When you flick up and if the sight is too low, increase your settings in small increments.

My current settings are shown in the image which is a great starting point.

Camp Item Requests/ Companion Item Requests

Camp item requests happen within the camp. You can find the items before they are requested but you can’t complete the item requests until they are requested which can take some patience. You can miss them by moving on to the next chapter without completing them. Once they’re missed, they’re gone.

Most of them are triggered between 8 A.M. and 8 P.M. They won’t trigger if you completely abandon the camp so visit often, sleep at night, and do chores. Doing chores seems to help them trigger since it boosts camp morale to see Arthur doing them.

The best guide that I’ve found to help out is the Red Dead Redemption 2: Every Companion Item Request (& Where to Find Them) from Gamerant. I still haven’t gotten them all myself.

Special Hat Collection

There are special hats that can be collected throughout the game. When one of these special hats are on an enemy that has been taken out or shot off, it will glow on the ground like regular loot. All you have to do to keep it is put it on one time, then it will be placed in your wardrobe.

Quick Horse Bonding

I’ve read all of the tips and have tried everything including the tip to walk around leading your horse which does help, but even if that’s all you do it can take some time to fully bond. Besides there aren’t many opportunities that motivates horse leading. I’ve come up with my own technique that combines everything and blends bonding into almost everything. To me bonding seems to go quite fast doing this especially if you’re hunting which involves constantly dismounting and mounting.

  • While riding your horse tap the L5 (calming/ pat while riding) button repeatedly (PC – G, Xbox – LS). This will give you about 1 bonding point with every 4 taps.
  • When possible, before you dismount feed, pat, brush, and hitch (4 bonding points). After dismounting brush, pat, feed (3 bonding points). Remove cargo from the back of your horse also gives 1 point.
  • When possible, before mounting brush, pat, and feed (3 bonding points). Once mounted brush, pat, and feed (3 bonding points).
