The New Dawn’s Advanced Training
Leveling Up
When it comes to leveling up and gathering daily loot I’ve seen many players wasting time as they sail around hunting for the highest level Armed Freighters that they can beat. You don’t have to do that. Using the Search option you can make them come to you. Click the Magnifying Glass in the left of your screen. Click Armed Freighter. Move the LVL slider to the highest level that you can beat and then click Search. Your plunder comes to you. You can do this until you get all of your gear without wasting time sailing around hunting for it.
You can keep calling the highest level Armed Freighter until you max out your daily loot.
You can call up to two Armed Freighters at a time as long as they aren’t the same level. In the example I call a level 70 and a level 69. This helps save time if you’re in a hurry.
You can combine Search in many ways. It comes in handy if you need to sink a lot of Armed Freighters for a mission or to gain Adventure Experience quickly. Combine Search with the basic lesson when you’re attacking multiple Armed Freighters on the map to add two more targets. You can lower the level of the Freighters that you call if you need to get it done faster. Once my Adventure Experience is maxed out I go for Honor Points which are great for hero experience and speedups in the market so I add Armed Freighters even when I’m hunting Sea Monsters to get as much as I can. The following is an example, how many can you take out at once?
If you don’t care about the level of Armed Freighters then you can just keep walking the level slider back and forth to keep Armed Freighters coming as long as your health will allow.
Trinket Fusion
Trinket fusion is the process of fusing two trinkets together in order to upgrade the trinkets quality. For example, fusing two Rare trinkets will create one Epic version of that trinket. Two Epic trinkets will create one Legendary version of that trinket. It can be quite confusing, but with this guide you’ll see it’s quite simple. I feel my healers are the most important heroes in my collection and Madame Lulu is my highest ranked right now so I’m going to fuse two Epic Life Funnels to get a Legendary version for her. You can get to the fusion menu in the hero window but it makes more sense to me to fuse from the Inventory.
Inventory –> Hero Equipment
Once your inventory is open, ensure the trinkets that you are going to fuse are unequipped. You have to go to the hero menu to do this.
Open the hero –> Click the trinket –> Swap –> Remove
The level of the trinkets doesn’t matter, but they have to be fully ascended (6 diamonds underneath).
Once the trinkets are unequipped and fully ascended click the Fusion tab on the Inventory page.
Since the two trinkets are the only two that meet the fusion criteria they are automatically selected. Lastly you notice that I need 100 Starlight Gravel to complete the fusion which happens to be all that I own currently.
Since your new shiny legendary trinket starts at level one, you are reimbursed in Eternal Flame and Sea Crystals during the fusion process. In this case Lvl 53 & Lvl 38 gave me 5.1K Eternal Flame in the Sea crystals. I used them all on my new trinket which brought it up to Lvl 59.
Gang Fleet (SS)
We have been experimenting with the new Gang Fleet option. There are a lot of potential for it depending on what the goals are since creating a Gang Fleet replaces your mini’s with the Flagships of your fleet members. Here is where you can create one and what we know so far.
NOTE: All ships must be docked at a port. You cannot leave your mini’s out.
NOTE: Gang Fleet duration is 4 hours.
Open the Gang Menu and on the first page and there is a new button named Gang Fleet in the bottom right. Click that button.
Click “Create Fleet” on the next page.
NOTE: If other gang members have fleets created they will show here and you can join them.
Here you can select your fleet options.
- Fleet Effect – Automatic
- Fleet Objectives – You can select 2 options or it will default to Explore. These seem to be for communication with your crew. They do not seem to effect anything.
- Requirements – Members can join freely or need to ask you to join.
Click Create.
The next screen shows your Gang Fleet is created. Click the icon to the left of View to send a message in the Gang Chat for members to join. Members can also join through the Gang Fleet menu.
Clicking the View button takes you to the next page.
After clicking View on the last page brings you here where you can view your fleet. There is a time limit for your fleet that shows at the top of this page. Once expired your fleet will disband.
NOTE: You have 10 minutes for at least 2 members to join or your fleet will automatically disband.
Click the Settings icon in the top right. You can choose Settings or Disband.
Clicking the Settings icon on the last page will being you here where you can change the settings of your fleet. Click Save and start plundering.
Benefits:
- Added strength of your Mates for 4 hours.
- You can take on Azures faster. I had 4 members out of 5 and wasn’t able to take on higher level Azures but LVL 30’s were fast and easy. I took out 5 in one round.
- Towers can be taken very fast and speeding up take over is matches the number of members you have in your fleet.
- With 4 members I was able to take a LVL 2 port with one other member that wasn’t in my fleet. Everyone in my fleet got damage points. LVL 1 ports should be easy.
- Everyone in the fleet was awarded Adventure Experience and loot to include Azure rewards.
The Downside:
- You can’t attack other players unless they attack you first, so you can’t go after trophies.
- You can’t auto-trade.
- You can’t do Gang Raids or Squad Raids.
- When you use Artifacts all fleet members lose one.
- Your stamina will also be consumed.
- Cannot leave your mini’s on towers for example when you join.
These is beneficial for sure if you’re going to be AFK or logged off. Yes, you will stay in the fleet even after logging off. If you have the $20.00 subscription auto-trade will start automatically once the fleet is disbanded.
Ship Parts
Ship parts can seem daunting and confusing, but it really isn’t that overwhelming once you know what ship/hero abilities they support. This is going to be a quick and simple cheat sheet.
- Blade o’ Freedom – General Purpose – Offensive
- Fury o’ the Storm – Top General Purpose – Offensive
- Sovereign o’ the Sea – General Purpose – Defensive
- Shelter o’ Yamata – Top General Purpose – Defensive
- Requiescence o’ Black – Cutthroat Damage
- Queen o’ Revenge – Artillery Damage
- Banquet o’ the Reaper – Strategic Damage
- Burning Crown – Burning Damage
- Rupturer o’ the Abyss – Drowning Damage
NOTE: Full sets matter and give you the most power, so don’t mix them. The only exception would be with a ship like the Stormbringer that is both burning/drowning and you split your heroes (2 burning/2 drowning) then I’d do half Burning Crown and half Rupturer o’ the Abyss.
Heroes & Ships
This subject is something that boggles my mind and I don’t completely understand why it works the way it does. Nothing worse than getting lucky and getting a new hero, the first thing you want to do is focus on leveling and catching them up. Well, this is going to change that and the way you think about it. I’m going to give you a tip to experiment for yourself, the best formation that I can build right now with what I have. All I can say is that most legendary heroes don’t matter.
Click the Cog next to your Flagship on the main screen to go to your Formation screen which is shown. Click Overview and you will find a summary of your entire fleet.
To me this screen is important because of the tabs at the top of the page. I have 1-3 unlocked. Tab 3 was automatically attached to my Pioneer Fleet. Tabs 1 and 2 I use to compare my formations. Once you set them up you can click back and forth on the tabs to see the power change between the two.
The next 2 images are my current strongest setup (09/19/2025) even with the fact that I need to catch up leveling on a lot of my heroes. If you don’t believe me, put this setup in one of your tabs and compare for yourself. With some toying around, this is a good starting place. From here you can add your new heroes to see if you gain power or not. Use this setup as a base and start building from this.
SS Sea Trials
In S2 only one sea trial was added. In SS there are actually two. The Sea of Infinity (purple) trials stay the same no matter which sea you have selected. The Sea of Trials (green) has two sets of trials in SS which gives you a total of four to complete at this point. It’s not completely obvious and leaves a lot to be assumed. Here is how you switch them around so you can complete them all.
Open the trials menu using the button on your main screen. If the Sea of Infinity (purple) trials is selected, click the banner to change it to the Sea of Trials (green). It will look like this image. Once here click the circle with “SS” inside it under the banner.
Clicking the circle with “SS” inside it will lead you to this screen where you can switch between all available Sea of Trials that are open to you. Click “Switch” then complete them. This is important because there are a lot of rewards.
You will need to complete up to stage 24 in the last one to complete the Season Challenge I in Twilight of Turmoil challenges.
